I've got a problem with my Specialized Air Tool Pro workshop pump. It's fine pumping up the MTB tyres but on the road bike I can only get the tyres up to about 80psi before it 'blows out' when I push the pump lever down.
After a bit of reading up it looks like the pump could be due a service and after taking it to bits, there are the pieces inside the shaft attached to the handle and the pieces shown in this picture which are permanently fastened into place in the pumps base.
The stuff I've found online covers servicing the pieces inside the shaft attached to the handle but I can't find anything on these pieces from the base.
I've basically cleaned them up as they were covered in all sorts of gunk but I'm not sure if they need any grease / lubrication etc when I put them all back together. The gunk that was on them left a silver residue on my hands but I'm not sure if that was grease of some sorts or just the muck and grime.
Can anyone help out here, do they need some sort of grease?
