I've got an unused set of (426? Air U-Turn) Revs in the garage that I'm going to use on a build for the missus. They're losing a little oil through the wiper seals on one leg so I'm thinking I might service them before using. (Could be worn stantions but they won't see too much action so no matter)
I downloaded the 2007 service manual and will start to pick through that soon, will I end up taking a box of parts to my LBS?!
I'll need to work out what bits to buy also, TFT has refresh service kits but they don't look enough to do a full service.
I'm comfortable with most things bike spannering related, but have not serviced shocks/forks before so am wondering if it might be better in the long run to just send them off.
[s]Actually I've never built a wheel or serviced hubs either and might do the hubs also. They're 2005ish XT, you don't need to rebuild the wheel to service the hub do you?[/s]
Ignore that bit. 30 second google answers all.
Ta.
Not too bad to home service, if you're happy with what you see in the SRAM documents you'll be fine. 😀
Thanks LoCo, I'll have a read and see. Do you know if there's a recommended full service pack I can buy? Something that will cover all seals etc required, some oil, and whatever else (other than tools)?
