got some of the ill fated forks.....they wont give any travel up even with the air chamber empty.
are they worth sending for servicing or should i bin them.

this model

probably hydrolocked damper, can't remember the exact fix but try searching on MTBR forum. It was a common problem.

which company is the best to use for servicing them.

that looks far to difficult for me to do.

windwave tony. that's who did mine (granted, under warranty but still)... most of the other big name servicing companies won't touch them anyway.

TBH the procedure there isn't that hard. I've done it on a pair of hydrolocked XC600 TST2s in a carpark before a ride using an adjustable spanner and a rag.

ton do you still have these forks? There is a shim stack mod that turns this fork into something amazing. Mine spiked on rocky hits- then did them mod and they are now biblical.

Hi hora, where did you get the shims for the conversion of these forks? I fancy doing it to mine cheers Chris.

I have the same forks, ata valve failed twice. Windwave converted them to a coil free of charge. You'll still be able to use the but not have the tuning possibilities of air. travel adjust will be about 15mm after and only a max of 25Psi in the lower leg.
