I have issues! Ive been following the Instructions, but the freehub body wont just pull off. Acually, I had to use a hammer and screwdirver to remove the cassette as it was seized on. Any tips? I've tried putting it in the vice, but I dont want to crush it.
Think i'll get Shimano if i need to replace the whole thing. In several years working as a bike mechanic, i've never had issues like this with Shimano hubs...
I had a hope hub serviced recently and cost me £48 !!!
Wouldn't have bothered if I thought it was going to cost that much, they are fantastic hubs though.
A similar thread here from a couple of weeks ago, plenty of tips in order to get the freehub of the hub body, you might want to take a file to the freehub body to get rid of the burrs before putting the cassette back on though. Hence the difficulty in getting the cassette off, its because it is an alloy freehub.

And you struggle with servicing a hope hub....if there's a knock at the door ,pretend you're not in. 🙄
Thanks. That's really useful. 2ps, hammers, vices, blocks of wood... what's wrong with loose bearings anyway?

I work on donated bikes for a community scheme. We don't get this sort of stuff donated.
Apologies...Answer the door and explain to the bloke with a big hammer 😳
Yeah the cassette issue is the freehub body being a softer alloy than the metal in the cassette carrier, damn thing cuts into the freehub body and chews the hell out of it. As for the freehub body being stuck on, soft jaws and a vice might work, but it 'should' just pull off as you turn and pull it. Unless the rubber seal is stuck down big time...give it some more beans with your hand!! You could try gentle taps with the hammer around the freehub body, then pull again
