Advice please.
I've got a externally routed Reverb that's loosing air pressure. It's 2.5 years old, so no warranty. Service at Flotec is £80 + postage and no guarantee it will be fixed. The new Brand-X Ascend II post now has an externally routed option for £126. Reviews seem good for the older (internal) post.
Is this a no brainer, I should buy the Ascend II? Any reason not to?
I just did this but I also upped the drop from 125-150mm to had another reason.
Pleased with the smoothness, 1x lever and fact that it's cable actuated.
Posted in another thread about the downsides to some design choices but happy overall.
Should be able to sell the reverb for repair as well to recoup a bit so won't be down by much (£120 v £80) and get a new 2yr warranty.
I hadn't spotted that it was cable actuated. I've always gone for hydro Reverbs previously, thinking that cables were less effective, but no evidence of this.
Good shout on selling the old one for spares, they're going for about £50 on ebay.
