off to finale ligure on the 23rd, last time my dhx5 was serviced was back in 2010 when to tuned did the push mod to it. Wouldn’t say it’s had a huge amount of us end mostly been in shed for last few years. Feels ok to ride but iam fairly useless at suspension set up etc doesn’t seem to be leaking oil or air and the £120 service fee would be handy beer money. I still have the fox air shock the bike came with so could take as back up if coil shock goes tits up.

Service the coil or say **** it?

Say **** it.

It will be better after a service, but I doubt it'll be earth shattering,

If it was an air shock I might suggest a quick air-can service.

The only time my dhx5 ever failed was straight after a service. I'd leave well alone rather than fiddle just before a trip.

Well if the bike hasn't been out for a spin in a while I'd take it out to ensure everything's still working ok

I sent my shock off to be serviced the other year. Cost £175 & Felt no discernible difference in performance / shock function.

Cool the **** it factor wins. I’ll take the original air shock as back up. More beer for Eddie 👍
