I've posted about this a couple of times but hoping for a better response this time.

My go to saddle of many years (Koobi Enduro) now seems to be unobtainable. I've tried replacing it with an Ergon SMC3-L, which fell apart quite quickly.

Just tried a Selle Italia XL-R and have come back from one ride nigh on crippled (when Italians say Large, they mean Small - why did I think otherwise?).

I really need help with suggestions for an all day saddle for a man of generous girth, preferably with a good cut out down the middle for my unmentionables.

Please help! I've just put my ripped and knackered Koobi back on my bike out of desperation.

Bontrager Kovee in a suitable width. If it doesn't work for you you get your money back.

Checked. Don't think that will work. I need a 155mm wide saddle and that's a bit too narrow.

Like you.. I've suffered various different saddles over the years until 2 weeks ago when I took a punt on the ergon sfc3 saddle from bike discount.de.

I can honestly say that its the most comfortable saddle I've ever used.. Riding without padded shorts is now no issue.. Rode Cutgate path the other day and had no negative issues at all. No numbness, no rubbage nothing. Mine is the large size which measure up about 160mm

160mm between sit bones? I did try an Ergon saddle as I mentioned but it has worn really quickly at the nose of the saddle, which is weird. They're a really expensive saddle and I was pretty disappointed that it wore out so soon. How long have you had your saddle?

Is there a particular issue, or is it just the width you need? Have you looked at SQ Labs? The 602 comes in a 16cm width. I've not tried one, but they have a good reputation

I keep going back to a charge spoon, tried measuring my butt and various specialized, a flite and something else but the charge just seems to work. Still not perfect though.

Rare as hen's teeth nowadays but Spesh Sonoma (older style, newer ones not) used to work for me.  Not light at all but supremely comfortable all day IME

There is one on ebay right now, but you'll be lucky to find them regularly - Link

I bought two nearly new 175mm ones on ebay years back to use on the cargo/utility bike and hope they last me through.  Still on the first after 6 years and it's holding up well so fingers crossed.  An alternative (also from about ten years back) is the Alias Gel 155, they crop up now and then.

I use Bontrager Montrose Elite saddles after a bike fit, in the largest size (155mm I think), does the trick for me.

I had a look at the Bontrager site and it seemed to suggest that they only did lady's saddles at 155 mm nowadays. I've tried a charge spoon in the dim and distant past ... No good.

My main problem is that I have a very dodgy back. I think that if I have too narrow a saddle, I tend to roll from side to side when pedalling, which really hurt my back yesterday. A standard 2.5 hour ride I normally have no issues with ended up being torture with the Selle Italia saddle.

I'll have a look at SQ labs as well. If they're super expensive, I'd be a bit wary just in case it isn't suitable. I don't have cash to just throw away.

My other thought was one of those fabric saddles. They seem to do a wide version of the spoon plus that fancy cell thing I read about a wee while ago.

Does anyone have any experience of those saddles?
