That's pretty much it.

Presumably everyone else is using Garminconnect for today's sunny Sunday bike ride, and it's slow as hell.

Will any other site do the same? I'm not having a lot of luck. bikehike seems to be waiting for a response from the garmin site too. Is it going to be the same everywhere?

It needs to be a special garmin file type, doesn't it? Does tcx work?

I just drop the GPX file in the folder using windows explorer.

I much prefer ridewithgps for creating routes, so I export as a TCX and copy the file to the Garmin manually.

Thanks! So if I can save it as a tcx file in bikehike, i can drag and drop it into the "courses" folder in Windows Explorer?

Yes, but It needs to go into "new files". Then turn the Garmin on and it will recognise it and put it into "courses" itself.

no. apparently not. doesn't show up in courses when I disconnect and turn on the Edge

Ridewithgps keeps falling over when I try to upload manually, same as Garmin connect.
