Super excited about ripping it up at 24hr of Finale in a couple of weeks time, but need to work out how to ship my bike back.
We're going down by train, but I then need to leave the group and zip off to Stockholm with work, and don't want to cart my bike and gubbins on four trains and two planes on my own.
Does anyone have any sensible suggestions for/ experience of shipping a bike from Finale Ligure back to the UK?
Struggling to get through to the local bike shops, and don't speak italian...

I live near finale, however you will find it difficult to arrange delivery from Italy to the UK, and it will cost you, and the Italian postal/courier system makes the the UK system look like perfection... (I am still waiting for 2k worth of stuff "lost" in the post.
anyway you are better off to hire, I know of a couple of bike shops nearby that may help.

Forgot to add, UPS have a dop off office here in San Remo, there may be one in Savona or Genova, which is nearer to Finale.
Have you tried getting two bikes into one bike bag? Might be possible. You're welcome to borrow mine.
adh - don't really want to burden the boys with my bike - its enough of a pain carting one bike on/off trains and down mile long platforms let alone two.
managed to demo a 9er for a few laps last year and knocked 10mins off my lap times, so it could be winner to hire.

Maybe find a bikeshop that mailorders. We sometimes send bikes for folk as we have spare boxes, bubble wrap and get discounted courier rates.
