I want to lower the stack height on my new old 2nd hand frame, to get bars lower and hopefully allow use of existing forks with shorter steer. Its and Older Heckler 135mm headtube & forks with 1 1/8 steerer.

Am I right in thinking-

Intergrated- bearings press right into frame, need specific frame & headset (not what I want)

Semi Integrated / Integral-cups and bearing press into ‘normal’ frame, can be used to lower stack height. Bearings prob wont last as long.

you're wrong.

you need a wider head tube for all semi/integrated headsets.

Crank Bros Headset is the best bet to lower stack height on a standard frame.

Also consider getting a stem with a low stack height too. FSA do some with pretty low heights.
