I am currently thinking about selling an old 26er frameset and fork. I don't use it and realistically don't see me using it either.
Currently it is an alu. trek top fuel, reba fork and carbon bars and seat post, and alu. stem. it is all very out of date by todays standards, so I really don't have much idea about if there is any value in this stuff.
Would I be better selling as a group or breaking it up into parts, or just leave it in the loft and save the hassle??
26er are not that easy to sell especially the frame but forks on there own might go well as its so hard to get new forks anymore and there must be still loads of 26" bikes around try the lot see how it goes as you say the 29ers are just so different and I think much better I commute in the winter on my 26" Hummer great bike at the time as its a 2009 but seems something of nothing off road compared to the new bikes around.
I wouldn’t split. You have listed the bars and stem as they’re carbon, but second hand (old) carbon parts in presumably unfashionable narrower width (bars) isn’t likely to fetch anything significant. With the proliferation of decent cheap droppers nice rigid seatpost are also worth a lot less.
Take a deep breath and put it on eBay or try here/gumtree

Split and eBay. I got £150 on eBay for a set of Rebas off my old 26” frame. Turned into 2 flights to Spain for city break. I was paddling in the Med yesterday:(
Retrobike is really quiet these days, especially for the post '97 stuff. I just sold a Soul but had to split it down and sell the everything separately.
I'd split and list it on facebook marketplace and ebay when they have one of their sell for a £1 deals.
ebay is a good place to get an idea of price by searching for completed items.
reba fork
If this is in good working order, straight steerer and QR, I might be interested at a 'cheap as chips' type price!
Currently it is an alu. trek top fuel, reba fork and carbon bars and seat post,
what did the frame used to be made of?
That will sell, easily. If you do split and sell it on ebay list as much useful info in the title as possible - I'm thinking size, dropout style, steerer diameter (inc. whether it's straight or not), travel etc. as they were all removed from the search refinement ages ago.
