Hi all, today my 11 year old want to have a go on zwift....my road bike is all set up in the garage ready to use..but I couldn't get the seat post down for him to ride...not only are both seat post and frame carbon...but the seat post is also a aero type.
Is there any way this can be moved without breaking the seat post or frame??
TBH the seat post hasn't moved since I got the bike back in 2012 ...
Thanks mate...but I need the bike for my zwift training too
Buy your 11 year old a road bike
Nahhhh.....just got him a fat bike for Xmas , zwift was just something to keep him spinning till the daylight returns in the evenings again
buy him some lights?
Youi frame probably has an aluminium alloy insert in the seattube - galvanic corrosion with the carbon forms aluminium oxide which 'locks' the post in position. Try ACF50 anti-corrosion spray which 'dissolves' the oxide assisted by mechanical force. BTW ignore suggestions of Coke - you need an alkali, not acid to dissolve the oxide. Sheldon Brown has some suggestions too otherwise Seatpost Man.
[quote="CheekyGet"]Thanks mate...but I need the bike for my zwift training tooThats probably why it's seized. Get it fixed now before it gets worse. Though if its been in since 2012, it might already be dead.
Can you still buy new seatpins for that frame?
