Mate has a 2009 Commencal Supreme DH. Paint work is poor to say the least so he wants to get it powder coated. Downside is, when we were stripping the frame, the main pivot bolt / axle has seized to the bearings sets. Whats the best way to remove the whole thing. He doesnt mind having to replace the lot as it looks like we may need to "gently" hammer the axle bolts to free the axle from the bearing. It being an alloy will prob damage the threads....

Any ideas please?

I had a bit of a siezed bolt in my pitch frame, no amount of hitting with a hammer would shift it.
It was a hollow bolt so pulled it out with a slide hammer, maybe worth a try if yours is also hollow.

Also, be careful about how you get it stripped, a customer of ours is currently taking a company who said they could do the job correctly to court for effectively destroying his Orange 5 frame with blasting-shot. His main pivot bearings, previously an interference fit, are now rattling on their shafts like a d**k in a shirtsleeve, not to mention the other surface damage incurred. Probably the most expensive few quid he's ever saved.
