Hi, new to the sight & looking for other riders in S.Manchester area to hook up with as I'm sick of riding by myself (friends have become a bit lazy). Look forward to hearing from anybody.

Take it easy.

Have a look at Manchester Mountain Bikers, they've always got rides organised round south Manchester

Distance/pace would be average at the moment as still recovering from nerve damage in left leg. Lights can be acquired no problem. Just don't want to become a pain in the arse if you're a whippet.

I ride lots in and around south manc. Little push up dh sessions, and xc stuff too. Get in touch if that sounds like your bag.

Saerch on Facebook for Hayfield Hub - there are several groups go out for regular rides from Hayfield on various days/evenings. Lots of forum regulars around these parts.

Keep an eye on the forum pages as well for "Pook's Pootles" - forum regular Pook organises occasional rides that way, all welcome.

Welcome to the neighborhood!

Just a word of warning, there's been LOADS of mtb thefts in south manc recently. I'm sure this goes without saying but be careful where you keep your bike and make sure you've got it insured.. if you can keep it in the house and out of sight.

acid yeah i know. Had my Azonic stolen year and a half ago from inside a shop, turned my back for 2 seconds and little sh1t had picked it up and walked out. Luckily the idiot went to Ken Fosters with it & they liberated it back. All bikes are insured, locked and kept in top floor apartment.

Our tuesday night rides are about to start up again now it's getting dark. We head out round the waterparks on Tuesday evenings. Meeting at Jacksons Bridge(Sale side) at 6pm. Myself and and a couple of others off here do it. Portlyone off here is Chorlton side. Email if you want to tag along.

Don't know any local stuff or peeps over that way, best bet as above is Mcr Mtb'ers for regular stuff. If you ever fancy a tour of Macc Forest and there abouts let me know, penty of hills and some cracking descents

Sale water park?
Excellent. I keep meaning to get myself out of an evening but chucking the bike in the van and driving to work then to the peak seems a lot of effort to get the same exercise as I'd get just cycling to work.
If there are people biking at sale each week then I can combine the two.

when are you next out?
