We have a 'secure' bike shed which has turned out to be less secure than we hoped. Our chains and ground anchor stopped the theft of the main bikes - but I think it's likely they will return better equipped.

As a result, we need to look at other options. Are there any super-secure options for outside storage...?

Nope, just enough locks to be secure, and insure them. Anything more would piss me off every morning having to get a bike out through it all.

Having said that, Id be bringing them indoors and covering the shed with airsoft mines filled with piss.

I have one of these Asgard bike lockers after somebody broke into my shed.
Same MO as you, if they hadn't been chained up they would have had them away. As it was they came back a week or two later, I had moved them to a secure location but they still tried!

Even using one of these, they are chained to a ground anchor inside, just in case. Not completely theft proof (not sure anything is 100%), but definitely big peace of mind, and good for insurance purposes.

If you want something virtually impenetrable, then get the specs off the Asgard website and take them to your local engineering firm as I did and they built a much stronger and far more secure one for the same money with 2 thick anchors welded inside

I feel the more beefy the security the more they'll think there's something worth nicking. The opportunists will try somewhere else but the pros will come with the right tools. If it comes to it they'll drive a fork lift into your garden and lift the whole shed off the ground.

Bike theft outside the house is a near zero risk crime for them as unlikely they'll be caught or prosecuted, so anything goes. In the house. Much higher risk.

Myself I keep thinking of a brick extension to the house, like a utility room kind of thing and proper full outside secure door, double glazed windows, proper roof rather than something that can be cut through easily (flat roofs have been known to be a way into garages for example). Basically part of the house. Can then be storage and bike workshop 😀

Been going down this line of thought myself.

Cheers for the suggestions guys.
