I could do with a secure bike store of some kind.
Asgards start at about £400 for a single bike. If I want to store three solos and a tandem, I'd be looking at well over £1000.
I could make my own,but 3mm steel is around £50 for a second hand 8'x4'sheet. By the time I've cut and welded it, bought locks and hinges and painted it, It's not all that much cheaper.
Anyone got any ideas ?

Oh, yeah, I should have mentioned that it would need to go somewhere with no vehicle access, so needs to be able to be assembled on site.

Something like this would be ideal, but impractical.

How long is the tandem minus wheels?

I've got the four bike one that will fit five with bars turned, but unsure if it's wide enough for the tandem. Probably about two metres wide.

(Sunday morning hungover comment time)

If there is no vehicle access then how do you get the bikes there, as technically speaking isn't a bike a vehicle?

(Sorry)

If you wanted cheap steel then see if you can raid your local work's scrap bin, my dad has made a whole load of stuff free from his.

Ron jeremy, there's a difference between what's legally allowed and what's physically possible. 😉

MTG, it's only illegal if you get caught, until then it's bloody good fun,

Will you store the bikes assembled or could you save space by removing wheels?

As said above a shipping container 8x10 cut into 6 or 12 pieces, man handle to the final position and weld back together (sounds so easy doesn't it!) they seem expensive on that auction site but there are always ads in farmers weekly and other industry mags
They need insulating though as they can get loads of condensation in them.

You could go cheaper on your steel.

Don't need 3mm steel. Could easily get away with 1.5mm sheet if you made a decent frame out of 20mm box section to tack it to. Some 4" box section welded to the frame and anchor bolted through.

That's how I'd do it.
