I have an Exposure Joystick (think its Mk 5, I would say 2 years old anyway) and it has gone a bit skew whiff...
It works, mostly. It works on full beam and it doest the flash mode and it turns on and off fine however you should be able to cycle through (i think?) 3 different brightness modes? But mine had lost the ability to do that... something up with the button?
Now I bought this second hand therefore dont have any receipts but if Exposure are anything like Hope with fixing their lights I am thinking they might be able to help me out without charging me an arm and a leg, otherwise I am thinking someone like Mr. Trout might be able to help?
Anyone had any experiences with Exposure and fixing lights?
It a while back (it was a mark 1 light) but my experience was replacement by return with no quibbles
Warranty is excellent...which is good as my Flare is going to need to go back for the third time.
even with no receipt and not being original owner?
Just send it direct. I skipped returning it via the shop last time and it was repaired in a week.
I think you'll be ok
Only used it once with a MK1 Joystick, Great service from Exposure. The light is still working now along with a couple of other Exposure lights.
They are very good. Ive had several power chargers fail and I only live about 10miles down the road. They have swapped them out everytime without even wanting to see a receipt.
I take the mick out of Exposure a little but their warranty support is bang on. They also offer out-of-warranty servicing and sometimes upgrades at fairly reasonable prices
I recently sent a Flare back, they turned it around in just under a week IIRC. You might have a problem if you're not the original purchaser though, check out T&Cs here.
Either way can't hurt to call them, they're a friendly bunch.
I bought a second hand Exposure light, had no reciept. One of the LEDs failed and I rang Exposure to enquire if they could help. They told me to send it through to them and it was repaired FOC and back with me very quickly.
Cant praise them highly enough.
My experience was that they were helpful but slow to respond, as in weeks would pass before getting a response to an email (albeit this was the start of the 24h race season) and they didn't manage to sort my particular problem.
This was a Mk1 Spark which kept killing batteries, and after several sets of replacement batteries and a replacement charger I figured out that using unprotected batteries in a light with no regulation built in isn't a great idea (If it's allowed to run flat, or even if the batteries are left in it for a long time, dead batteries). So B for effort, D for achievement.
And yes I do realise that my contract was with the retailer and I would have had even less joy dealing with them (Evans Cycles).
Personally I cant understand why you are asking about warranty here. You bought the thing second hand, presumably for a lower price than new. You took that risk and now you have to live with it. Simple as that.
expecting to get the benefits of a warranty being the second owner is for me rather annoying and smacks of a skinflint trying to get something for nothing. These people operate a business, not a charity. Read the conditions on their website and then think about whether you really would like to waste their time and yours.
I found them very good but it was relatively new stuff that i'd bought so this comment is useless, dunno why i've bothered thb
thanks guys, sounds good ill give them a bell
chief - what a top notch bell end you are. I never said i wanted it to be replaced, I was simply enquiring as to whether people had had good or bad experiences with exposure and them fixing their products... which would inform me whether to bother or not as if it was bad experience and in most cases people were told just to buy a new unit then I would rahter now, if it was good and they were repaired and charged not too much for their time/service then I am more likely to give it a try.
I've had my light repaired, out of warrenty but bought by me and done FOC.
I'd just ring them and ask.
anus,
you asked about warranty in your title post then process with this statement:
Now I bought this second hand therefore dont have any receipts
Perhaps I have misunderstood the point of your post, apologies. I seem to have mistaken you for one of those cheapskates that always want something for nothing. Perhaps buying second hand (nothing wrong with that part) and then having the cheek (and also making fools of themselves)To request warranty repairs or replacements.
Apologies again you don't at all seem to be one of those skinflints.
