Looking for a medium hardtail frame - non boost - for my (soon to be) 14 year old son. He has outgrown his Riddick frame which has been brilliant as a first proper bike but after upgrading a few bits and him growing taller he needs a bigger frame. Problem is he is a teenager so very fussy about make and colour (so no halfords brands). Anyone seen any bargains out there on anything? I thought finding one would be much easier than this!
Was really happy with the Ragley MMMBop frame I picked up for my youngster.
Dartmoor & Octane One might be good options also.
Edit - I see you specified non-boost, I wouldn't rule out bost for the sake of an adapter for ten or fifteen quid. Frame will be easier to sell in the future.
Don’t discount pinnacle Iroko frame(if you can find one) superbly well made with spot on geometry.
I will keep an eye out for a Pinnacle. He likes On One, Giant, Cotic, Specialised and Trek but I should be able to talk him into other makes. The fussy little sod.
Another vote for Dartmoor, specifically Hornet, awful lot of fun to ride, takes forks from 120-180, very versatile, and couple of years ago was only £240 new, so second hand should be relatively affordable, also takes 26 or 27.5 wheels as a bonus for the versatility.
Dartmoor Hornet?
I have said frame currently for sale. Medium.
Non boost 135 x 12.
If budget sways it, I'll have this wallet friendly medium Vitus Nucleus VRX for sale very shortly. In fact here it was on Curber Edge last night 🙂
