Hi all,
I'm looking for a seatpost that can be inserted all the way down to the saddle clamp. I'm struggling to find one because all the ones I have tried are either slightly flared at the neck stopping them from going in or are narrower at the neck so have to be clamped below the narrow bit.
Also it's a bit difficult to try new ones because its likely to get scratched and hence can't be returned.
Anyone have any suggestions??
Cheers

USE Sumo or Alien springs to mind.
Cheers. Anyone else have any other suggestions other than a new frame 🙂 ??
New frame. If you have to have the saddle slammed just to ride it, it's the wrong size. Unless you have similar dimensions to E.T or Roger Smith from American Dad.

Think my Thompson post is straight up to the clamp...
I can ride it, and its fine for everything apart from DH when I need the saddle lower. Hence the question. New frame in the pipeline methinks, Just trying to "make do" until funds allow. Medium Tracer 2 frame anyone??
I tried a Thompson, but the top of it is ever so slightly wider than 31.6mm meaning it jams in the seat tube with about 2-3cm protruding. Annoyingly, I had to cut it very short to try it, only then to find out it jams 🙁
How much do you need to be able to drop your post by?
Is your frame too big for you?
Have you considered a dropper post?
I could do with having the saddle about another inch lower. Yep, the seat tube is too long for DH stuff, but fine for everything else. It's a tracer 2, so not a proper DH bike and I do run a reverb on it for trail use
