I have a 2013 Trance XO 29er.

The bike has currently got a Reverb fitted that I just don't need so I'm going back to a regular post.

Due to the angle of the ST the Thomson (2 bolt) posts I have, in line and layback, struggle to get the seat level due to a lack of adjustment caused by the ST angle.

I'm after a 30.9 post, ideally with some layback, that has a head on it that would allow for a more extreme angle to be set. Something like a USE sumo but with some layback.

Sadly funds don't stretch to Ti but that would open up some options.

Any suggestions?

Thomson do (or at least used to do) two different cradles for different angles, which one do you currently have?

I've just (got an email reply today!) been asking Thomson something similar about their droppers. My 29er needs a saddle to post angle of around 65 degrees.

The Thomson drawings suggests the inline posts have a 29 degree adjustment range which would be a 61 degree angle at the seat tube / post (is this not enough for your Trance?). The setback has less adjustment - see drawings at bottom of this link

Otherwise, I've had good results with Ritchey posts with this kind of 2 bolt / curved cradle head:-

And posts like the Hope Eternity adjust to almost any angle.

I run my Tompson lay backs with yokes instead of the stupid squeaky and heavy clamp.
You can get much more angle this way too.
