Recently bought a Fatty from On One. Floater tyres and standard rims etc.

First time I rode the bike the front tyre "burped" off the rim. Second time out and both tyres have developed a flat spot. Not the best way of describing it but as the wheel turns it looks as if there is a buckle in towards the centre of the wheel at one point on the rim. Wheel is fine so it looks like the way the tyre is seating in the rim.

I have taken the tyre off and moved it around the rim but am still getting the flat spot around the valve area. Is there a specific way of seating fat tyres or has anyone else had a similar issue? Would be interested in how you sorted it out.
Cheers

Using tubes or tubeless? If tubes, the flat spot maybe due to the fact that the rubber is thicker near the valve, so inflates to a smaller diameter.

Yep tubes in. Inflated to 40psi to try and seat them but still had the flat spot. Tyres do not seem to be sitting in the rim properly?

Daft question, but are you pushing the valve well into the the tyre to allow the tyre to seat in that area before inflation?

When you say "flat spot" do you mean they feel a bit egg shaped?

If they are egg shaped cure them like this

Deflate the tyres.
Spray silicon spray or similar or soapy water around the bead area.
Inflate to 40+ psi.
Leave overnight.
Lower pressure to what you want.
Sorted

look around the rim - you can tell whether the tyre is seated properly by whether the line above the bead is at a constant distance from the rim all the way round.

This stuff is brilliant. Fit tyres, squirt on tyre/rim bead seating area, inflate to 20psi and jobs a good 'un.

Lower pressure to 8psi before you go ride though.

Thanks for the advice. Used soapy water and they went straight on. Egg shaped was a better description.

Will look into some silicon spray as well.
