I've just bought a Trek Fuel EX8 (2007). I think the Bonty seat post is original, but it's a very tight fit in the seat tube, getting gradually tighter as it goes down. Is it supposed to go past where the pivot is attached? Is this a known problem, and what can I do about it (apart from shorten the post)?
