I want to get a dropper so was measuring my seat post to see what length I would need.
I raised the saddle to the highest I would ever want it* and measure the exposed tube to the bottom of the rails. 250mm. I then measured the remaining inserted tube, 32mm. That seemed pretty short.
My bike is a Boardman FS Team 650b and the spec says the seat post is:
Boardman E4P (31.6mm - 350mm / 400mm with offset)
Am I doing something wrong as 282mm is nowhere near 350mm? The bike was 2nd hand so the post may have been cut before I owned it.
*I've been riding it a few inches lower so it's nicer on the downhills.
Sounds like the previous owner has cut it down.
Cheers
