I have always run seatposts with layback as I have quite a long-back for my height. For instance, my current bike has a 610mm top tube, a standover of 832mm (max I am comfortable with) and I am running a 100mm stem.
Looking at the geometry of the newer trail bikes out there(long, low slack, etc), many seem to come with dropper posts that are straight through,no layback. Can I compensate with by choosing a bike with a longer toptube, as I seem to fall between some sizes, rather than running a still longer stem?
