My daughter is running Schwalbe Racing Ralph tlr tyres. The rear has a tiny thorn hole in the sidewall. The tyre goes down over about 12hr. We are running Stan's sealant, but it wont seam to seal it. What can i do to seal the tyre from the inside?

Surprised it wont seal on its own as ive had bigger holes sealing with just the latex. You could try the sticky worms which also work well or even a drop of superglue

Clean the inside of the tyre and put a regular patch on it.

3 things, all will probably work.

1) Glitter in the sealant, sounds ridiculous but actually does work pretty well. And gives you glittersealant. I do this with all non-UST tyres now. It doesn't stop you from doing the others which are:

2) Normal puncture repair patch on the inside of the tyre, clean that bit of hte tyre first Just a wee one, it's plugging the hole but isn't under any real pressure.

3) proper tubeless repair from the outside. But they're more expensive and most folks don't have them.

There's also 4 which is a bit bodgier, you can just put some glue or patch vulcanising goop on the inside. But I stopped doing that after having one fail.

If its 'tiny' I'm surprised it hasn't sealed so add more sealant and rotate wheel so sealant is over hole. If bigger...

...which is what I'll be using on a slashed Ralph this afternoon

I had this when I converted my tyres to tubeless. Just a tiny hole from a previous puncture but the latex wasn't getting the job done. I ended up putting a dab of super glue on the hole. Worked quite nicely!

I have found the hole. Moving the wheel and tyre combo so that the sealant covers the hole seems to work for a while and then when i come back to it, its flat. I will check again and see if there are other problems.

Thanks for the help so far

Has she ridden it since the puncture? It may be that the extra agitation/air escape sealant black magic works best when not at a standstill with liquid sealant stopping the sealant in the hole from coagulating

I always keep a tube of stormsure seam sealer in the freezer for wetsuit repairs and I've found it excellent for holes in tubeless tyres. It's flexible and never seems to come unstuck.

Ok, liking the seam sealer idea.

why is it stored in freezer?

If you keep it in the freezer it lasts forever. If you don't it goes off in a few weeks. And because there's no water in it you don't need to thaw it out before it's ready. Just wait a couple of minutes.

Double check sealant is fresh - was about to bin a good Racing Ralph that wouldn't seal - then I popped a fresh shot of stans in - didn't think it would work - 6 months in and it's still holding .

but it wont seam to seal it.
Seam Seal does though : ) the stuff that you fix tents and airbeds with, works well on tyres too. Or a dab of powerflex superglue, the normal brittle stuff's not as effective ime.
