Thinking of putting a ride in tomorrow morning on the sdw winch end. Whats the conditions like? Is it all frozen solid and lethal icy or a snowy muddy mess?
or should i give it a wide berth and hit the tarmac?

Was up at Cheesefoot Head last night and it was lovely crisp snow- no mud at all. Great fun.
Did the entire SDW last weekend (before the snow) with a bivvy at Washington, and it was frozen solid but very rideable.
The Cafe at QE is not open at the moment- but might be scheduled to reopen this weekend- which we found out to our cost.

back from an awesome ride on sdw, very hard work but got used to it on way back. didnt make QE by long way. the wind really picked up making it even harsher so i turned back after an hour or so.
my first really snowy ride that i can remember, cool
