Whilst looking for a new camelback I discovered the Wingnut bags which are distributed by roughrideguide

And saw the wingnut 3.0 came with a free guide. Namely the North and South Downs guide.

Possibly I'm harping back to the days of exploring with my trusty OS and these are a bit more specific. So are they any good or is it all Strava /interest routes now days?

The Vertebrate guidebook? All the routes I've ridden, in various parts of the country, have been good quality.

I assume they are a selection of the "best" trails in the area, ranging from easy through to technical, from someone with local knowledge.

I'd rather rely on a published guidebook, than random routes from random strangers on the internet.

Looks like you'll not be getting the freebie, Holmes, so it'll have to go on your Christmas List!

Nope no freebie. So have to get separately.

Different author. However as you've used the Vertebrate book a I'll give that one a go.

Was Peter Edwards the author? I used to share a house with him in the eightees and remember when he first wheeled a Muddy Fox Courier down the stairs. Oh how we laughed, oh how wrong were to laugh
