Hi,
I've got some little nicks in my rebound damper shaft from a total DIY f*** up. Turns out a replacement rebound damper is going to take 5 months to arrive. So, my only real option is to smooth out the nicks as best as possible. Can anyone recommend something that'll do the trick? I've heard super-glue and nail-varnish mentioned, but something more purpose-built would be good, no?
Cheers as always!
Nail varnish is pretty close to ideal tbh.
how bad is it?
I took a substantial chunk out of fork stanchions prior to going on bike holiday, advise was press down on raised bits with back of spoon and rub down with wet and dry and fill with nail varnish. Intention was to get it replaced but it never lost air so just rode it and left as was.
Nail varnish and very fine wet and dry and patience should do it. If they’re a bit deeper I’ve had success in the past with an epoxy liquid metal type product..
