You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
At 5'11.5 I'm on the upper edge of a medium, but middle of Large. The bike will be used for Marathon racing & forest single track training.
Can anyone comment on how they size up and whether the medium should be purchased for a more "lively" or "manouverable" e.g. smaller frame feel?
Disclaimer: I'm here for Scott spark advice not a commentary on my decision making process or material gains. Cheers.
Medium is spot on for me, with 80mm stem 740mm bars, and at 5'10". I wouldn't want to go larger, and as an XC bike I definitely wouldn't want it smaller as if would counteract the faster, a bit stretched out, position.
nb this is spark rc 100mm travel job, not the normal 120mm spark.
best xc bike i've ever owned btw.
The days of having to size up are over imo as the manufacturers now make them correct.
Which leaves it down to preference as to whether you want chuckable or stretched out.
Why wont you be using it for standard XC racing?
@Ferrals - I'll use my Carbon HT for up to 90 mins or so races.
Kryton57, genuinely laughed out loud at your disclaimer.
I'm 6ft. Ride a large '17 700 plus with 29" wheels, 60mm stem, 780 bar, wouldn't want to ride a medium, I've made that mistake before.
