I've found local shops that have Scott Scale 940 and also an Orbea Alma M50 in stock. Has anyone here got one of these bikes, just wondering what you think of them and whether you've had any problems with the press fit bottom brackets?
I had a 930 and really like it - fast , comfortable, easy to ride. No bottom bracket problems.
Orbea looks nice as well
Thanks that's great to know, it looks like a great bike. I was a little bit worried about press fit bottom brackets as I had a Cannondale in the past that was prone to creaking so good to hear that you haven't had any problems.
The model I'd seen was a 940 but I've also seen the 930 on-line in stock. Do you think it's worth spending the extra to get the 930? The fork looks better but I don't know if there's a big difference between the rockshox on 940 and the Fox fork on the 930?
I've got the alloy version of the alma, no problems at all with the the bottom bracket.
I didn't get on with the RS Judy fork though and swapped it out for a Reba. I found it a bit noodly
Good to hear you've had no BB issues. Roughly how much did the new fork cost? I was wondering if it might be worth asking the shop for an upgrade price when I buy a bike.
I got a decent one second hand and fitted it myself. Looking at the model prices on both the Scott or the orbea you're better off getting back to he model up with the better fork as that would be about the same cost
