Looking at these bad boys to replace a pair of Shimano AM45's that are about 3 seasons past their "bin by" date... I've tried all sorts of other shoes on, but just don't like them for various reasons (mostly that they're laced but without a flap over the top, or they're not warm enough, or stiff enough).

The only feedback I can find on these shoes is the women's version on off-road.cc, where to be fair the feedback is kinda what I am hoping for.

Anyone else actually tried them?

I have a pair but haven't worn them yet. I do have the flat pedal lace up version also and they are not particularly comfortable as walk about shoes as they seem to want to crease between the tongue stitching and toe cup as my right foot flexes....left foot is fine. They are relatively stiff soled compared to 5tens though.
The ones pictured I bought for long multi day adventure rides like the chilcotins but I didn't get up there since having the shoes hence not wearing them yet.
All other Scott boa shoes I have are superb.

Popped some cleats on and gave them a ride today.
Pretty comfy and nice and stiff. Tighten up really evenly with the twin boa's
A little outer foot strain though as I'm used to Scotts ergologic insoles with the adjustable arch and metatarsal pads.
Fast ride in them today.. likely the conditions rather than the shoes though 😉
