Hi
I have been looking at various full sus bikes recently and stumbled across last years scott genius 730 at the knock down price of £19050.
It is described by scott as a trail bike which is right for the kind of riding I have been doing.
My only concern is do I really need 150mm suspension travel for riding my local trail centre.
Thanks for your help Jason.
How much? Not sure that's much of a bargain!
Sorry £1,950.
Buy a Trance. You know you want to.
You don't need 150mm of travel anywhere but at least with a Genius you have the option of reducing it to 120mm with the flick of a switch. You don't get that with other 150 bikes.
Depends which trail center is your "local" one?
You probably don't need 150mm but that's not to say it wouldn't be fun.
If your local trail center is somewhere like Cwmcarn, you could do the xc loops then have a blast down the DH track.
What's not to like?
Looks nice too. 😀
As above, the ability to run the fork low and in TC on the rear for pedalling, or fully open for fast fun descending and its a real jack of all trades.
I went to one Pedal bike for 2013 and sold my 26 Spark race bike and do everything on my 1x10 Genius.
The Twinloc lever thing doesn't just lock out the suspension either it reduces the travel and changes the stroke. It makes the bike sit slightly higher and steepens the head angle. It totally changes the character of the bike.
I'm not a fan of clutter on a bike in the form of cables, levers and switches but when they work this well you get over it. I borrowed one last year and used that feature loads.
