Heading up to Scotland for a week from Sunday. Planning to camp when the weathers not too awful and stay in cabins/b&bs etc when it is. The vague plan was to head north riding Glentress/Inners, Fort Bill, Torridon, maybe Skye.
Currently the weather isnt looking too great on the west coast but more settled inland and towards the east. Any advice on good places to ride more central or eastern?
If thats the case then maybe head for Aviemore/Braemar instead of Fort William. Easy to get to Torridon from Aviemore and plenty of accomodation options around Aviemore.
Is Comrie croft worth a stop?
Comrie is quite good fun if you're into the trail centre vibe and it's one of the least overtly artificial places. However there is so much more to Scottish riding and so much to do away from honey pots like Kinlochleven and Torridon if it's wet out west. Braemar, Deeside & Ballater is a good shout, with much more interesting riding than Aviemore (which ain't half bad either).
Nice one, ill look into Braemer etc. Any idea where I can find decent routes round there?
Same as I say to everyone doing the 'road trip' - I'd give Skye a miss.

People seem to have a downer on Skye? I loved it when I went there a few years back.
Not a downer as a place Ransos, I just didn't think the riding justified the journey.
Skye is a great place.
But i agree on swerving it for a road trip. Its a standalone trip that.
Have a great trip.
A good time to ride in Scotland.

Agreed Skye is lovely but I wouldn't bother taking my bike there.
Also Scotland is much bigger than it looks on the BBC weather map. Pick a general area like the Cairngorms or Borders / Dumfries and Galloway and spend the week there, otherwise you will end up spending most of your week driving round
