I'm organising a 7/8 day Scotland trip, my current plan is to stay in Peebles, Fort Bill and Inverness to ride Inners, Glentress, Glencoe, Fort Bill, Golfie, Glenlivet.

Anything worth doing that I'm missing? I'm more for uplifts but the others prefer trail riding so has to be a mix of both

There'll be a torridon suggestion soon but I think you've got plenty of driving there as it is. Where are you coming from?

Id skip Glenlivet and go to Laggan much better centre with more variation and will save you a fair few miles driving. Dunkeld is worth a visit on the way back down the bike shops there should be able to give advice on routes coupled with trailforks make for some very enjoyable riding

I'd probably pick from these and do this order..

Inners

Golfie

GT

Dunkeld

Laggan

Aviemore (Burnside)

Golspie

Fort William

Glencoe

The reverse order would also work but Glencoe is a bit mad for the first day. Inners could be as easy or as challenging to start as you desired.

If you're up golspie way, it's be rude not to pop into Balblair too

Don't see any reason to visit inverness in that list of trail centres.

Or did you mean Golspie rather than Golfie?

Laggan and Glenlivet are better accessed from Aviemore area.

If you do go to Inverness then Balblair, Learnie and Goslpie (though that's a bit of a drive)

Learnie and Glenlivet are very much XC.

Day 0: Arrive in Tweed Valley, stay Peebles or Innerleithen or in between.
Day 1: Warm up with Inners and GT reds in one ride, there's a link trail along the river plus a great lunch stop at No1 Peebles Road
Day 2: Have play on Inners and Golfie off piste, fairly easy to ride between, plus can stop for lunch again. Or could have this as an uplift day at Inners instead?  https://www.adrenalinuplift.co.uk/

Day 3: Head north....

Glenlivet has only just reopened after forestry work, but some of the red is still closed.

Cheers for the input! I'll be driving from the Isle of Wight so a few extra miles won't make much difference..

Yes, I meant Golspie not Golfie. Although I would like to ride Golfie at Inners

The idea behind Glenlivet was that it would be cool to ride in the distillery estate, but open to ither suggestions. We were staying at Inverness as it was halfway between Glenlivet and Golspie but accomodation is proving hard to come by so would possibly look to ride somewhere further north and stay near Golspie

Laggan is on the list if we get extra time, we did it a few years ago

No Golfie/less strenuous alternative....

Day 0: Arrive in Tweed Valley, stay Peebles or Innerleithen or in between.
Day 1: Warm up/Fun Day at GT on blues, red, off piste and bike park. Peel Cafe for lunch stop, good soup. Half day skills course? -  https://www.dirtschool.co.uk/  or  http://ridelines.co.uk/ Great for anyone at any ability. I learnt so much on one

Day 2: Uplift day at Inners  https://www.adrenalinuplift.co.uk/  Lunch at No1 Peebles Road

Day 3: Head north…

Also there are supermarkets in Peebles and a Coop in Innerleithen. Remember you can't buy beer in shops after 10pm.

To be fair it could be.

Day1 gt red linked with inners red.

Day2 gt off piste

Day3 inners off piste

Day 4 gypsy glen

Day 5 yair

Day6 golfie

Day 7 a revisit of the absolute best stuff.

Done and not left the tweed Valley and you've missed half the good stuff.

Seems like a long way to drive to ride some identikit trails in some anonymous commercial forests. There must be some closer to you than the Tweed Valley?

Cheers for the input! I’ll be driving from the Isle of Wight so a few extra miles won’t make much difference..

It more of a case of spending more time driving than riding, lots make the classic mistake of looking at a map and thinking it all looks so close together...

2 days tweed valley

2 days cairngorms

2 days torridon

2 days fort William, one of which on gondola

Could swap out 2 torridon says for 2 around Dunkeld or even an island, but tbh once at aviemore it's not much further.

Just a quick reminder if like our group you like a little refreshment at the end of the day ...there is almost zero tolerance to alcohol if the neenaws stop you and ask you to blow into a bag in Scotland ..

Worth remembering for the morning after ..however No.1 Peebles Road ( Innerleithen ) probably make the best coffee in the world ...

As it should be mate, if I'm drinking the night before I don't bother that whole day, older and wiser, I think! 😂

Lots of good suggestions but remember there is a beautiful world outside forestry commission plantations and amazing riding outside of trail centres. I'd put Ben Lomond in there if you are passing on a weekday or evening when it's quieter, absolute classic summer evening ride that. If you're heading an hour from Inverness I'd be tempted to go to torridon rather than golspie, I think the torridon riding itself is maybe overhyped but the scenery is stunning, especially if you live in the darkest south. Golspie is cool though, I love Balblair too. There's also some top riding up Aberdeen way.

Balblair is only short but you can do several laps, which is good as you start to learn the lines through the rocks. I think it's a wee gem, the views from the top on a good day are spectacular. Some of the woodwork at the top was closed for repair when I was there a couple of years ago.

OP If you're in inverness and into your dh stuff it might be worth asking monster bikes about joining and riding the mast trails on private land near Inverness, I think it's pretty cheap and looks like some serious features and stuff if that's your bag
