Setting off on a two week offroad tour of Scotland next week, and part of my route is going from Cannish to Fort Augustus.
There seem to be 2 options; either down the great Glen, to Loch Beinn and then over to Fort Augustus on the old milatary road, or a more direct route straight over the top via Loch ma Stac (no track around it).
Any opinions/advice as to which route would be the better ride, more Scenic, less pushing/hike a bike?
I've done neither, but IIRC the Guisachan route is bikeable.
Another option would be Cannich - Tomich - Cougie - Corrie Dho - Ceannacroc Br, then along to the start of the Military Road in Glen Moriston. I've done this as far as Ceanacroc and it was all rideable, with a great descent to Corrie Dho.
I'll have a look at that, thanks
