Hi folks,

My shock has stuck down repeatedly. Unfortunately on close inspection, I have a scored air can which let’s pressure seep from +ve to -ve chamber. 🙁

It’s a 2011/12 Monarch rt3 High Volume air can. Looking to replace it, can’t seem to find a spare, however there are debonair cans available in the shock size. Apparently these only appear to be listed as compatible with 2013 shocks onwards, however the service pack for both HV and debonair shocks are exactly the same (o rings the same size etc)

Does anyone know if I can use one of these to repair the shock?

Hi mate, a little bit more hassle but I would call TFT and ask them if no definitive answer from on here. You'll get your answer within a few seconds of being put through to one of the service guys.

Yeah. Thanks poopscoop, TFT have always been my go-to suspension specialists (until I taught myself how to do a service - then it appears that whilst I’m able to strip and service a shock I can also add a certain amount of grit to really f-it up!)

I had a similar question about an old Monarch and went straight to SRAM's tech support - they were pretty quick to let me know whether parts I'd found online would fit (FWIW they wouldn't, and they didn't have any spares available either).

What size is the shock? I've an old monarch + in the garage from similar vintage which might be suitable for cannibalising at least?

Thanks for the offer @dangeourbrain, it’s 200x57.

I'll check the size this evening but that sounds about right.

For anyone who has found this thread via google, TFT have said that a Monarch of that age is no longer supported and the original air can is not available. The debonair can does not fit an rt3 HV of this age.
