Anyone taken a bike in this direction ?

Looks a go-er on the map and from recollection walking the Mosedale Horseshoe I cant recall anything that would be show stopper.

Nothing on Strava though.

Black Crag (which is the Scoat Fell side of Wind Gap) is very, very rocky! Sufficient that the Wasdale Fell race route avoids it! You'll be carrying the bike up Pillar from Wind Gap as well. Scoat Fell itself is basically grass.

Wind gap to Pillar big carry, but the descent from Pillar to Wasdale Head via Black Sail makes it really appealing.

From memory of running it, that's not too bad. There's a couple of rocky sections on the actual path that are hands on to get up/down but there may be lines to the Wasdale side.

Edit: It's not been done with the bikability of paths in mind but geograph.org can be useful to find things out. The link is the easier way to use it, just zoom in and hover/click on the black dots to get an image.

Thanks for the link Whitestone. I always found Geograph a PITA to use but that link is ace. Cheers.
