Morning all,

I want to replace the tyres on my Procaliber with something a little more robust then the current racing rubber (Fast Track/Renegade).  My thinking is a Nobby Nic 2.4 Super Trail on the front and then perhaps a Wicked Will 2.25 on the rear but they don't do this size in Super Trail.

How do people find the Super Ground Evo in terms of reliability/durability and how true to size are they?

I'm sure my Wicked Will is 29 x 2.4 Super Trail. The Will is lighter than it looks, mine is 880gms new on the scales. It's a good tyre for front or rear, not the most grippy out there for the front in wet leafy winter conditions, but works as a allrounder. I recommend definitely getting the 2.4 over the 2.25. Faster than it looks too.

I would personally just go with the 2.4 Will. I've been running 2.35 / 2.4 (60mm-ish) tyres front and back on my Transition Spur for the past two years and I've smashed every Strava PR that I set on my old 2.25 Nobby Nic/Racing Ralph tyred Giant Anthem.

IMO a difference in 3-4 mm tyre width has no noticeable effect in terms of drag, especially with a modern tread like the Wicked Will.

Thanks for the feedback, that's good to know. sounds like the 2.4 is the way to go providing it fits. According to Trek clearance is 2.4

I run a weird set up of 2.6 Wicked Will F and 2.4 Nobby Nic R on a hard tail. It actually works really well for that particular bike but perhaps not as a winter optimised combo . ..

Having made a slightly better effort of looking, it is available in Super Trail flavour which I feel would be preferable to Super Ground as it should be more forgiving and longer lasting.

Anyone know of anywhere cheaper than BikeInn at £50?
