Looks like the One will be less plush and more durable than the Pro One I have now and want to replace on the rear, but how much so?
Here's a handy comparision thingy!
Isn't the Pro One the tubeless specific version of the One?
So should have a more sturdy carcass and feel will depend whether you're using tubes.
I think my 28c Pro Ones feel very good tubeless, FWIW.

TLE (tubeless) in avail in both one and pro one.

I stand corrected.
Perhaps @mboy could help, if he still works for them.
The One TLEs are a PITA. They snap back off the rim as soon as you remove pressure, and I can't get sufficient airflow without removing the valve core, even with an airshot.
Just fitted Pro One 30mm TLEs tubeless and they are a magic carpet ride. Can't comment on longevity but they do have some extra protection under the tread according to the reviews.
I bought a pair of Pro Ones 2 years ago. The rear went square quite quickly, leaving me thinking they wore fast - but then, that was 2 years ago and they are still on so maybe not. No other issues with them and yes they are beautiful to ride on but also my first road tubeless so I've nothing to compare with.
Next question - where the hell has stock?
I got mine from Merlin but it was a few weeks back now.
These are my first road tubeless too so no other comparison. However, I have been on Vittoria open pave 27mm and corsa 28mm for quite a few years and they are 320TPI carcases which are very supple and a very good ride indeed. The Pro Ones compare favorably.
Funnily enough at the weekend I swapped out the 30mm One TLE tyres I had on my Winter road wheels for the past 2 years for brand new 32mm Pro One TLE. Both pairs set up tubeless.
Initial impressions from first ride yesterday are that the Pro One TLE were much easier to fit compared to the b*stard tight bead of the One TLE. The Pro One do ride slightly more smoothly, but I'm comparing 32mm Pro One (65psi) vs 30mm One (75psi) so extra width plays a part in that.
Purely feel so not scientific in the slightest but I felt the Pro Ones have slightly more speed in them and roll ever slightly more easily, not massive but just a feeling. The Rolling Resistance website link above seems to provide evidence of the the wattage difference.
The Pro One TLE I fitted at the weekend are also tanwall so naturally look waaay betterer than the all black One TLE. 🙂
Well I ordered Pro Ones for a staggering £60 as that's what was in stock and I fancy a long ride at the weekend. Foolish maybe but if I get two years out of it (it's for the rear, the front is showing no signs of wear) then that's not too bad. The One was only £10 cheaper anyway.
Sixty quid for road tyres? What's the world coming to? Or more accurately how did I end up at the point of spending that much on tyres? 🙂
I've used both. Pro Ones are the best road tyres I've ever ridden. So fast and so supple. They didn't last as long as I would have hoped, but to be fair I treated them badly. I replaced them with Ones which are merely excellent. Both were TLE. Both went on the wheel without any drama.
I might be wrong on this but my frazzled memory digs up the One as the remarketed Durano whereas the Pro One is the updated equivalent of the Ultremo.
Does anyone else recall that or is it a Boblo 'fact'?
It was looking like price for standard GP5000s was going to become £50-60 a tyre after the pandemic, but thankfully Sigma did a few sales and now Merlin have dropped their price a bit too, so I've got some 23/30mm in the spares box for less than £35 each.
Sorry for the thread hijack but slightly related. I have a set of Pro Ones, set up tubeless (first time road tubeless) with Giant sealant and they lose more than 20psi over night. Is this normal or is the Giant sealant shite?
Mine lose 20psi in about 2 weeks. Well, until recently, the rear lost like 40 in a few days on the last two rides which is why I started shopping for another. It has lost a lot of rubber which makes me wonder if this is a warning of it's imminent demise.
I didn't have a great experience with pro one TLE. They wore quite quickly but then also cracked after a very short period. Wiggle warrantied them which was great. In the intervening period the GP5000 TL was released and I far prefer those.
As a counterpoint, I got 5k Miles out of a pair of Pro One tubeless jobbies recently. I swap front to back at 2k miles and the previous front is then good for another 3k on the back. The rear obviously wears faster than the front and swapping results in front and rear wearing out at the same time.

Yeah well I'm fat and I live in a hilly area so I think I am putting a lot of torque through that contact patch 🙂
I haven't been swapping tyres - if I do that then I end up with a square tyre on the front as well as the back which produces weird handling effects. I'm going to put the current front on the rear when the new one comes though as if I didn't the front would just stay there for years and get really old.
I used to square off Ultremos but I don't seem to get it with Pro One's. I'm running GP4000's and 5000's on the other bike though tubed. They don't square off either.
Might need to stop riding bolt upright Moly 😁
