Has anyone used these tyres or any other road tubeless tyres? I have a pair of pacenti sl25 rimmed disk wheels and are looking to purchase some 25mm or perhaps 28mm tyres for some 100 mile events planned later this year. Are they worth the extra effort to set up over a pair of conti gp4000s?

Yes - use them almost all the time now on my main road bike.

Virtually no extra effort to set up, in fact maybe even less hassle than putting a tube in a normal clincher. On SL25s they go up tubeless with no issues whatsoever, track pump does it fine and - though I've not tried - I wouldn't be surprised if you could do it with a hand pump.

Get some very good tyre levers though, or super-strong thumbs, as the fit is tight.

Wouldn't consider tubes for anything other than touring now, really. Schwalbe reckon we'll be doing that tubeless too in the not-too-distant future.

Thanks but have you ever had to put a tube in at the roadside? It's the extra faff of sealant over my kit and hands whilst at the roadside or am I worrying about nothing? Do you take spare tubes out on rides just in case?

I had the Ultremo tubeless. They were fantastic but when they wore there was no stock anywhere and the One tubeless were not yet available so I went back to GP4000s. Gp4000s are great tyres but the tubeless were a class above and I'd definitely have them again.
Edit... just seen the question above. I did 2500 miles on mine and had one noticeable puncture when a sharp piece of swarf pierced the tyre. Sealant kept the pressure high enough to get home. I took the tyre off, pulled the swarf out, refitted it and it blew straight back up without adding any more sealant! I imagine you'll have punctures galore, you'll just not notice them.

excellent tyre, some stock around in germany, and much cheaper prices, seem to go up much easier than the IRC tubeless i got as replacements when stock dried up, looking forward to the new versions they're bring out, including gravel and roubaix

I've been running Ones on Giant carbon rims for a while now. They went on and up incredibly easily and I only added some Stans for good measure. I've had one large puncture which, nonetheless, sealed itself enough to get me home at night in the Alps.... There was a lot of fluid sprayed about, though! I'm really impressed with the whole thing. The tyres roll fast, are comfortable and grip well. My mate borrowed the bike and was also impressed. I got my tyres from Germany where there tends to be stock. Having gone tubeless on the roadie, I can't understand why it's not a more widespread practice, as it is in the MTB world. I do carry a spare inner tube, just in case, but that's only because I favour a belt and braces approach!

Yes, got a cut in one of the tyres which was too big for the sealant to cope with once. No issues at all, just stuck a tube in and off we went. No harder than replacing a tube like you normally would - just needs to be done way less frequently.

Yes, IMHO you're worrying about nothing though I totally understand why. Don't worry about it. A bit of sealant (you don't need much in there anyway) which is no more of an issue than the usual braking gunge you get on your hands when doing a roadside fix anyway.

100% yes (I carry two tubes, whereas I'd only take one plus some patches on most rides if I was running tubes). Not taking a tube is surely the quickest, most-guaranteed way to get a puncture the sealant can't cope with, no? You'll hardly get any punctures mind.

G-One and S-One are due for 2016

No stock for the 25mm One Pro last time I looked (German prices, not UK 😉 )

I've been using the One tubeless (not Pro) in 28mm and 25mm for about two years now. No punctures and all good.

I only run tubes on the wheelbarrow these days.

I have bee using 28mm Ones tubeless for about a year, in that time I have had one puncture, which a 5mm cut through the tyre(typically that was on the 2nd ride on a new tyre) No real faff to fix; just valve out, fit innertube and pump up. I left the sealant in the tyre so no mess. Sadly the cut to the tyre meant it had to be binned, I tried various tubeless repairs but wsn't confident with them at road pressure, although might have been fine. I always carry a tube or two just in case, but only needed them that once.

Has anyone tried both Pro One 28mm and S-One 30mm?, or even just the S-One?. Looking for feedback on ride quality and rolling resistance on them, the reviews look good so far.

I'm cutting down to one road bike for all year round and would ideally want to run the same setup throughout the year (mudguards in winter). Something quick enough in fair weather, puncture resistant in winter, grippy on wet, and fat enough for night road ride potholes and tubeless. So the S-One looks ideal...?

I've spent the winter commuting and training on the original heavier One tubeless. Mounted on Ksyrium non tubeless ready rims. They were the easiest tyres I have ever mounted. No sealant needed!

I'd steer away from the 28c tyres. The Ones in 25c come up very wide and are fine on even the most dreadful tarmac.

Reading stuff like this I'm now wondering whether I am a) lucky b) a risk-taker or c) stupid because fully 1 year (and c.8000km) after going tubeless I've not carried a tube once and here I am! I have had only one puncture incident and on that occasion the sizeable thorn basically plugged the hole and I rode it home with no pressure loss.

Am I riding on borrowed time?? Apart from anything else I am almost certain I wouldn't stand a chance getting a tube into my SL23 rims if I had to which is actually the real reason why I haven't bothered carrying a tube 🙂

Aye, been using the non-Pro One tubless in 23mm on my summer roadie for a year.

They were a bit of a pig to get onto the rim (SL23), but were the easiest tubeless tyre I've ever used to seat & inflate - could do it with a hand pump!

Not going to comment on punctures in case the puncture fairy is listening.

I bought a 23 the other day,as I'd put a big cut into my existing tyre - the 23 comes up [i]fairly[/i] big, for what that's worth

I'd rather a 25 though

Only place I've seen 25mm available has been in LBS, at full retail. Never seen them available/in-stock online.

I've just replaced my GP4S with some 28mm Pro Ones and they went up on Kinlin Xr22 rims with a track pump. Running 75-80 psi and they feel pretty good. Bike discount.de seem to be the cheapest. I'd be interested in the fatter S One or G One.
