Struggling to find the snakeskin version of the tyres I'm after but would like to stay using tubeless - do the Liteskin tyres stay up with a generous splosh of sealant or will I forever be topping them up with air?
Thanks.
Ah wait, I've found the snakeskin versions in stock at Tredz, what could go wrong? Take my money!
Well for the record, they go up, but initially lose a bit of air. After the first couple of rides I've not noticed more air loss than the snakeskin. They aren't really designed for convenient tubelessing, though the bead is the same profile with the intent of working tubeless.
I'd go for snakeskin except on the front for XC racing type things.
Cheers. Thinking about it I've gone through 3 or 4 conti MK tyres which have gone all wobbly from riding so I better stick with the tougher versions anyway.
Found the SnakeSkin variants on one of the German sites so will probably order from there.
Even the Schwalbe reps say don't bother with the liteskin versions. There is a hugh increase in puncture risk for little weight savings. World cup racers use the snakeskin....
Running them here, went up easy enough tubeless. Soft the first few days then went hard. Didn’t take much to rip the side wall out of one though. Might have been unlucky as the cut followed the thread line. At 30quid a mile that was a pricey tyre. That said they are supple and they look epic.
To add to that. Up here is the lakes. We have rocks and stuff.
