I've spotted the Schwalbe Johnny Watt on my new tyre hunt.
They look like an interesting all round tyre for connecting the trails together and riding the Ridgeway.
I see them more as a hardpack tyre, not for winter plugging
Seems little to no reviews, except the odd BSO ebike post.

Not sure if these will go up tubeless?
Would love to hear some feedback if anyone has any experience.

I just put a pair of 29x2.6 versions on my rigid bikepacking mtb. I got them because they were cheap, looked hard wearing and able to cope with the massive weight of me, bike and full bikepacking gear combined. Took them out for a mixed 50K spin as a test and they were heavy but fast rolling on tarmac, harsh but confident on stony gravel and fine but not fully grippy on sloppy mud. I definitely had them inflated too hard for an unloaded ride and they did bang through potholes. I think they’re designed for pedelec style heavy e-bikes so you’re not going to xc race on them. Bargain price from Merlin though.

Thanks Supernova!
I'm eyeing up the 27.5x2.8 as a plus tyre on the Stooge Dirtbomb.
It's going to be an all round SS bike, so maybe these tyres won't give me enough compliance if they're heavy ebike cassings..

They came standard with my orbea Ebike mtb commuter (Kemem SUV) in reflective 29 x 2.35 guise. They've lasted a year very well. Hardly any wear noticeable in 3000km and maybe three punctures that have needed a plug.

Impressive a go anywhere gravel tyre for commuting and taking the off-road option routes. For that they are brilliant. Ultimately they are designed for hardpack and road use, but they do light roading well if run soft.  I'm considering getting another set when these finally wear out.

Not Tubeless compatible apparently, but I've used sealant successfully for 9months.

ran a pair of 2.35 on my fargo.  proper bombproof construction, very fast rolling on tarmac and hardpack.

handled a weeks offroad tour of the dales/pennines/lakes with no issues.

wish they made a 26 x 4.8 fat tyre version.

Good stuff, thanks.
I might just get a set to try. They are so cheap on Merlin!
