Specially interesting in the 2.8 Nobby Nic for an upcoming Lakes trip as I'm not convinced by WTBs are up to the job.

Anyone got first hand experience?

I love Schwalbe tyres.. but I also like eating at meal times. So I'm still running the old compounds. Like the sound of the new ones, but will wait till they cost less than a car tyre to try one!!

speaking with someone running the very sticky ones and the not so sticky ones. (blue and orange?) the very sticky one is much like a stickier version of vertstar. the fast rolling one is like a grippier pacestar. Which means ill be sticking with the trailstar ive currently got.

I've had a couple of rides on the Trailstar Nobby Nic Apex Snakeskin 2.8in, including the rockfest that is Rivington's Ice Cream Run.

I'll be taking it to the Lakes with qualified optimism.

Just realised how badly written my original post is. 😳

I love Schwalbe tyres.. but I also like eating at meal times.
Ha! Yes... Well, they seem to be a cheaper option than the Rekon. Also pestering Spesh about their Grid 2.8s but not having a lot of luck at the moment.

The overlap does seem a little odd. The Addix NN comes in Blue in 2.8, which seems to be a grippier, slightly slower replacement for Pacestar, whereas the RRon comes in Red which is also a slightly grippier Pacestar replacement.

I'll be taking it to the Lakes with qualified optimism.

Good to know - cheers.

You can still buy the Trailstar Apex Snakeskin here, if it helps...

Just replaced 2.6" Rekon with 2.6" NN Addix Apex TLR etc. Too early to review except drive grip is better.
It took fair bit of work to get NN up as tubeless straight from the box but finally succeeded with floor pump.
Will interesting to see how NN performs, Rekon has nice grip on the side lugs but it sure doesn't like braking.
