Does the 29er Scandal frame usually cost more than the £149 it currently is at? I'm on the lookout for a race bike for next year but in no need to rush so can hang on and keep looking for something for a bit longer if it is usually so cheap. Seems a bit of a bargain though.

I paid a lot more than that, so yes it is a bargain and a good run of the mill frame for the money. I would plump for the V2 though.

I paid more than that for my Scandal 29er (V2)frame, but don't begrudge it as it is the most fun bike to ride . I'm running it as a rigid SS , for XC , the geometry for me is the best I've ever ridden.

Tiny , tiny , gripe , in the picture & desciption , there where 2 bottle bosses , turns out there is only one.

Thanks guys, V2 29er in green ordered. Shame the raw is £209 but it does seem really good value at £149 and will give me a little project over the winter.

Quick supplementary question - does it come with both types of swap-outs or just the vertical?

My friends one came vertical. Not sure which model he got though.

I've emailed On-One to ask them, if not then hopefully they're available to buy but I can't find them on the website. I quite fancy a single speed to use over the next few months.

@ Paulio ,if you are going rigid SS , then I strongly recommend you go for carbon forks , on one's are fine.

& oh yeah , mine came with vertical drop outs , had to order the horizontal ones , but as with on one , not too pricey , don't forget the tensioners !

If your watching the pennies , I've got some ally ones for sale - £35

stanleigh - Thanks for the info, probably will be SS but I'm going for a suspension fork this time I think. I've had some Nukeproof carbons which were great, Orange F8s are pretty good too.

I need to look through my spares box before buying bits for this, I think I've got some tensioners in there amongst other bits. I quite fancy building my own wheels for the first time though!
