I just had 3 calls from different numbers asking me about my car accident 2 years ago.(in10 minutes)
Well, I had no accidents.
They sound Indian, would not tell me the date or place so I hung up. The last one said I was entitled to compensation.
Admiral was one of the names used.
What kind of scam is this?
I've had it too - in my case it's a bunch of scousers that call me every single month and despite me telling them to stop calling me, they continue to call me. This has been going on for ages - I've tried politely asking them to stop calling me, sternly demanding that they remove me from their list and now, I'm afraid, being downright rude to them. They always call in the middle of the day too, when I'm at work.
Phone rings - Liverpool number. Here we go again...
Caller: "<scouse twang> Hello sir, do you have a few minutes to talk?"
Me: "Yes, unless you're calling about an accident I might have had, in which case you can go boil your head"
Caller: "(somewhat thrown by my perception) Well yes, I was calling about an accident..."
Me: "Great, can you provide me with some details about when and where it happened"
Caller: "No, I don't have that data"
Me: "Then why the *%$%!! are you calling me up to talk about it then? Bugger off and leave me alone!"
Caller: "Errr, OK."
I've started playing with them now, trying to see if I can sell them something. I'm pretty sure I got the last one interested in taking a timeshare in the Costa del Sol 🙂

Sadly, this lot of mine use multiple numbers, so every time I've blocked one, the next one comes up different. It's almost like it's a scam...
I used to get the same, just ask for the vehicle reg number.
Every time they ask a question just ask for reg number, they hang up after three or four repeats, haven't had a phone call for a couple of months now.
Yeah I get them too. Never had an accident. One person couldn’t believe this, so asked if id had an accident at work or “maybe fallen over in a public place”. Scum.
We had a load of them after we made an insurance claim; Car was parked up and nobody was in it.....
And more after a second insurance claim; For a new windscreen.....
Scamming scum.

Hehe. How wonderfully innocent and naive 😉
I keep getting the "this an automated message from the Inland Revenue, A lawsuit has been filed against you...." just tedious for me but for the vulnerable and gullible another matter. 👿
I suspect its not a scam, just a third party call centre company who act on the behalf of multiple companies to try and find leads.
The claims data is sold on by insurance companies and the buyers are the ambulance chaser type.
They wont have specifics of the claim (if there was one) just that a claim has occurred and so chance it that an injury did occur and could they act on your behalf.
Either that or they're scamming scum.. not entirely sure how considering none of you have got anywhere with them it seems to understand what information theyre after specifically to deduce it is actually a scam.
We had a small fender-bender a few years back. Nothing major, no injuries and just a small amount of damage. But enough that we had to exchange insurance details. We got so many nuisance calls for so long that we ended up buying a trueCall. Fantastic little device. Now the only calls that come straight through are the numbers that we've told it about. Everyone else has to record a short message identifying themselves. Not missed a call that I wanted or had to speak with a single nuisance caller for years now.
This was the day after I'd arranged car insurance, also advertised a car on gumtree.
Had a couple more calls yesterday from liverpool and london which I didnt answer
