[Closed] SB66, Mojo or Blur LTc

What mojo frame? Tried a 140mm slr and wasn't that impressed, light but not a confident descender. Mate has a mojo hd and loves it.

I tried the sb66 and was very impressed with how light it rode, plus how capable it was when pushed, has a proper slack ha. BB is abit low so pedal strikes a bit if an issue, but handles like a dream so a small price to pay. The key is to fit a good fork(not a fox 32) to get the best out for the bike. Only reason I didn't buy one is I'm between sizes..

SB66 for me, as above fit something stiffer than a 32, I run 34s and it's great. Mojo's seem a bit XC side of trail for me, I hear they rip up climbs but don't come down as well as they should.

Like the OP I had an ASR5; got a good deal on a Blur LTc. It didn't get all the way around it's first run out without 'issues' Flipping short like all Santa Cruz, too. So it went back to the store...

Got an even better deal on a demo SB66C. And I utterly love it. Lighter than the ASR5 for more travel, rides like a Yeti should.

Swapped all the gear form my ASR onto the frame, along with 32's, but lengthened to 150mm. I don't know why all the anti-Fox 32 stuff on here; they were a good fork on the ASR, they are still good on the SB.

I will try some 34's, once I've paid for Xmas!

Never tried a Mojo, couldn't find one to throw a leg over.

The 32 is out of it's depth at 150mm. That's why I replaced mine with a Pike on my 66.
First ride with the Pike & I was sticking corners the 32 just couldn't hold.

I've an LTc - not ridden either of the others. LTc has quite a short top tube, compared with other bikes, and that makes them pretty flickable on single track and more variable terrain, but maybe not the best on long straight flat out downhills. Frame is not terribly light, but very stiff and direct - especially when coupled with stiff long travel fork up front.

Love mine, but they're not for everyone.

LTc owner and a solid great bike up and down. Just done 200km XC race on it and would throw it at the alps and any UK trail centre without hesitation. Builds from 11 and a bit kg to 14 really depending on spec and budget. The TT is short but fits me fine with a 50mm stem. Running 160mm 34's and can't find fault 🙂

I agree with comments above it sticks in corners really well and my riding is faster and more confident as a result. cue broken leg.

Well, if someone buys my FTM in the next 36hrs, I will buy a SB66. If not, I will order some Pike 150's on Tuesday and turn the FTM into one seriously lightweight trail blaster.

LTC, new so it's a no-brainer. Well sorted frame with warranty. Don't but a second hand Mojo unless you find a seller who will help you with warranty (and they seem trustworthy). You may prefer an SB66 but the extra weight wouldn't be worth it over something like an LTc imo.

I bought a 2nd hand Mojo frame but the previous owner did run a well respected Edinburgh bike shop...

Alps, Morocco trails, the lot. Its proving to be pretty robust. RC2 fork slackens it nicely for the downs but spends most of its time at 130 mm.

ive demo'd a mojo and was very very underwhelmed, 140mm travel xc bike decends like a dog.

owned an LTC and it was a total nuisance never ever stopped creaking and wasn't particularly spectacular to ride plus its geometry is suited to T-rex's, the strive i replaced it with was a far better and cheaper bike.
currently own an SB66 and its so much more planted than the blur i wouldn't put them in the same category of bike, its stiffer plusher and a better climber than the LTc despite being a 5lb heavier build.

buy the SB its not called a super bike for nothing.

I love it, I ride stuff I didn't dare to on my previous (456ti)

It gives me the confidence I lack.

It's short top tube suits my long legs but short body but equally suitable for those with very short arms too (T-Rex) 😀

Not ridden the others and don't even know what an SB66 is!

I have dual position 160's, though I don't adjust them, because they ride so well at full travel.
Thy also don't take the spring rate adjusting tokens.

I got the Blur LTC this morning, thanks for the PSA 🙂

Now I have to consider forks. I have fox 36's and Revelations from my turner 5 spot which I swap, depending on what I am doing. Thinking i will get some Pikes as a do it all fork not that I have a frame that will accept them.

Any view on which would be better? 150 or 160 for the LTc?

Do you know what year the LTc was? The website didn't say, and judging by the colour scheme I was thinking 2012 or thereabouts,

is it the red one? ISCG and 142 back end? That was the last one made (2013 I think same as mine) previous one was green in the coloured version.

Good choice Freddie, you wont be disappointed. I really should stop recommending the SB66, there will be loads of them about soon, although now maybe Yeti will even stop it being mothballed if LBS start to order them again.

I think its the 2012 version, but like you not totally sure, but for the price thought it worth every penny. Definitely not the latest as it has the 135mm rear triangle which means I can use the same wheels 🙂

If it's the French one listed above it's the 12/early 13 ish one. The back end is stiff as if it's full of Viagra anyway. Not like some things that need a bolt through.

The last tweak was for 13 and came in red, best not let the missus find out there was a green one left in the world. We had the importer chasing the US to see if they had any left.

Great buy Neil and an amazing bike. And I paid nearly that for a second-hand 3 year old one last year 🙁 gutted

What's the warranty like on these French Santa Cruz LTc??

With all the carbon pivot fracturing on Santa Cruz of this age. Is it covered by Jungle or would you have to send back to France?

Be a big worry if you weren't covered??

I reckon it'll be heading back to France (no different to the Yeti), but at that price, it doesn't really matter whether it goes to France or an address in the UK.

Not heard of anything on the LTc much more of an established design I think. Looked at the 2 here and found nothing

160 dual position.

They measured just 5mm taller than the 150mm revs I had on the frame so left them there but was also in the process of getting the kit to reduce the travel to 150mm off Loco. Don't think it's needed though.

160mm all the way! I have the Talas, but never drop the travel, so should have really gone with Floats... You live and learn!

Finally got it built and ridden, and I love it !

Got to tidy the cables a little, but you get the idea 🙂

Went 1 X 10 with the one up 42T and have to say it works very well.
