It was [b]entirely[/b] his fault.
*I use the term cyclist loosely, it was a chav on a supermarket special (no lights/helmet/hi-vis) but to the general public, he's as much a cyclist as Steve Peat or Bradley Wiggins.
Driving out through the salubrious delights of Droylsden, East Manchester about 5pm - it's getting dark, about 1 deg C, light sleet and I pulled up to the rear of an arcticulated lorry in a 2-lane section. Cyclist pulls up to left rear of lorry; initially I thought he was going to go up the inside but no.
We moved away from the lights and dickhead was holding onto the back of the lorry as we crossed the junction and the road went down to 1 lane. I was one car back from the lorry. Next thing, the road does a right-left jink where the new tram stop is and crosses the tram lines (which are of course soaking wet). I could see what was going to happen, it was obvious and sure enough, the back of the lorry swung left as the driver went right and the insweep of the kerb slammed the guy into the back of the truck and he fell off. He was OK - picked himself up and was sorting the bike out by the time I passed. There was too much traffic for me to stop but the lorry pulled in ahead so I guess the driver had seen him. Hopefully got out and gave him a good kicking.
And you wonder why cyclists get such bad press... 🙄

A young lady who's acquaintance I have recently made ( 😆 ) broke both wrists in an accident last night in London... Caused by a tosser on a bike. She was on a scooter, he pulled out - don't know the exact details, she was pretty doped on morphine last night when we spoke but she swerved to avoid him, came off and he just ****ed off. She's currently having surgery to pin one wrist and gonna be off the mtb for about 3 months. Gutted for her as she mountain bikes so well 👿

i used to grab onto lorries for a free ride... grabbed a tram in summer.
Used to commute regularly that way and that's not even close to the stupidest thing I've seen happen there, from cyclists or drivers.
Between the new tram lines and road layout changes I've started going a different way, the tram lines have already claimed me once while I was on my road bike, dread to think what it will be like with trams in the mix.
I'm sure he will be equally crushed by the weight of middle class stw angst; soiling the good name of us proper cyclists. If only he was reading this.
commuting home through central London this evening
saw plenty of "genius" riders without lights, wearing dark clothing, jumping traffic lights; some even riding the wrong way down a one-way street against the traffic flow, or riding on the pavement cutting up pedestrians
how more cyclist fatalities are not reported every day in London, is something I am still trying to fathom?

Going by his behaviour today, it'll probably be sooner rather than later that he becomes an organ donor!
I must've just missed that, went through about ten to five. Those new tram lines look evil, espcially as they weave back and forth across the road. Best one I saw was a similar 'cyclist' at the end of the M602 where the round about is. He crossed six lanes of traffic jumping a red light. I just shut my eyes, really didn't want to see chav jam everywhere. Somehow he got through unscathed!
