Hi, Anyone bought a santa cruz frame from abroad (EU)?
If so who did you register the warrenty with four frame and bearings?
Would it be a pain if I had to claim?
Cheers
Don't know about foreign bought bikes, but, AFAIC, if you have proof of purchase, you just send em back, and they replace. That's all I've done, about to happen again.
Likewise, I send in bearings with receipt and within 3 days I am holding new bearings.
I registered on the website
http://www.santacruzbicycles.com/en/au/bike-registration-form
bearings is send them in get them back. In terms of warranty in general your first port of call is the retailer who sold you the bike.
I got my frame warranty done through LBS not the shop who sold it to me, they contacted SC and 4 weeks later new frame! So along as you have receipts your fine.
I bought a bronson a few years back in Crested Butte USA, after my ellsworth frame snapped while on holiday out there. I registered with sata cruz usa for warrenty.
I had to deal with SantaCruz USA directly to get the frame replaced, as Jungle in UK couldn't deal with a frame bought overseas.
Asides from having to pay the postage + Import Duty + VAT I was happy with the service I received from Santa Cruz - As they no longer had the same color frame in stock as my broken frame i got a brand new complete frame from them.
I've not tried doing anything with bearing yet - so not sure if i could send those to jungle in uk
