I thinking about upgrading from my Trek Fuel 80, which only has the front mech and seatpost left from standard. Before I rush off and get a Superlight frame and transfer all the bits across is there anything else that I should consider.
Most of my riding is cc based with quite a few trips out to Gisburn Forest and Lee quarry.
Still trying to break my SL after many years, i use it daily for Ashton Court ride before commuting it to work. Considering shelling out on a respray. I'll never get rid of it.

.... Superlight!! Just done the same, transferred all the upgraded parts from my ancient Marin to a Superlight frame. It's had a right battering in the Peak this weekend... & can't rate it highly enough!

Thanks for the help and positive feedback on Superlights, reasons for it being the preferred option are seems to be an easy frame to maintain with single pivot, Santa Cruz lifetime warranty and positive reviews like those expressed. Had a quick look on ebay at some of the frames suggested but not been tempted away yet.
Any advice size wise, Trek is 19.5" but post on limit. I'm 6'4 with 34" inside leg. Would an XL be better for me than a L?
I'm only 5'11" and ride a large, so I would have thought you'd probably need XL?
Great bikes with the Santa Cruz brand cache for a compelling price. My mate has had two (with a brief dalliance with a Blur) and he also likes the simple single pivot from a durability and maintenance point of view.

Hi chudsy your def a xl Santa cruz,they come up smaller than some as they measure top tube length from the outside edges of the seat tube to head tube etc. I loved mine and still wished I'd never sold it I'm 6.3 and rode an xl with a 80 mm stem. Has taken me a while to get back to a 100 mm frame and got a great deal on a morewood zula which I'm enjoying very much,very snappy ride. Just one point i ran/run both these frames with 120 mm forks. For me the main difference is flex super light was flexi the morewood is not, both the bikes had the same wheels fitted ex1750 with a 10 mm rear axel and I'm fairly sure the geometry is very similar either way most the frames suggested above are good rides and there is a xl forsalein the classifieds today might be worth a look.

Chudsy - I thought the warranty was 2yr, has it changed ?
Pivots and bearings are not an issue if they are well thought out. Have you ridden one? The geo will be similar to your top fuel but the back end will be very different. If you're a bit of a biffer you will feel the rear flex.
I went from riding 5's for all the noughties to a SL in 2010 and sold it this year. It's the shortest I've had a bike for at 18 months....ymmv. I didn't dislike the bike. I just didn't love it.
Oops warranty is only 2 years, must have imagined that bit. Does being just shy of 100kg qualify me as a biffer? Only really noticed the Trek flexing when the bushes went.
I'm 6'4" and ride an XL Superlight, it's a perfect fit.
I'm 95kg *cough* ish and about 6'3" and also rode a XL. Fitted well and weighed about 25-26lbs
Are you set on an SL? If not try and get a test ride if you can - there's a lot of choice at that price point. The SL is quite traditional in terms of geometry - you may find you're happier with a slightly more relaxed head angle. I ran 100mm SIDS on mine (they were also flexy). It was very quick on the single track,responsive and fun but that was a trade off on the downs and techie bits which weren't quite as much fun.
