Hi

Anyone out there got Reserve wheels yet ?

Being forced over to boost as my warranty replacement frame is boost

Quite tempted by the Lifetime warranty on them as my experience of the santa cruz warranty replacement on frames has been great so far

Any Reserve owners out that can comment on them ? , i'm thinking of getting a 30 for the front and 27 for rear to go on a Bronson

I've got some. I haven't broken them yet. They are round and have ticky ticky i9 Hubs. They don't seem overly flexy but they aren't jarring to ride. They've been to Bikepark Wales a few times as well.

Yeah I don't imagine most people would give them anywhere near that level of abuse

I, for one, often ride down sets of stairs with no rear tyre, slamming the rim into every square edge as I go. if it can't EVEN do THAT, then they aren't fit for purpose....

(i'll be getting a pair for my next build, 30mm F&R)

Picked some 30s up last year in Ubyk's black Friday sale. Feel nicer than the Enve M60s they replaced. Feel a lot smoother on the trail but maybe that's partly down to the bigger volume tyres. I wasn't the original owner of the Enves so never felt confident riding through rocky trails now I'm quite happy to smash through anything safe in the knowledge SC will replace them if I do manage to break them

Out of interest, have SC sorted you out with the new Bronson frame or are you on a leftover V2?

Out of interest - what size tyres would you run on 30mm internal rims?

2.3's or 2.4/5 Wide Trail?

30mm internal, I'd use wide trail tyres.

My very fast, and very big mate battered a pair of them during our week in Finale. Rode some ridiculously rocky stuff. Not a single problem with them and they took some huge hits

They are giving me a Mk2 - I'm ok with this as I'm still a dinosaur who likes running 2x  - so I can whack a front mech on

I actually like to be able to pedal up really steep stuff at a nice spinning rate rather than having to grind the gears or  having to get off and push

I often pass peeps pushing their 1x up  steep hills, with my out dated gearing 😎

when I cant buy 32 / 22 chain rings anymore i'll reluctantly go 1x

I've got 2 sets. I've had the 27s for a year and theyve taken loads of abuse in the Alps on dh tracks and singles - no problems other than tightening up spokes and scratches..

I've got some 30s on my new nomad and they feel better to me with a 2.4 wt tyre than the 27s did. If I was buying some I'd go 30's as a pair.

I'll fit some light tyres onto my skinnier pair or mud tyres and use them as spares. I intend them to last forever.

They aint the lightest but they have a nice ride characteristic which I can only describe as stiffer than alu but deflect enough when holding a tight line without wandering.

Big fan of SC.

Love mine!  They will be going with me on my next bike I reckon. I'm on 27 internal and I've had some fair rock strikes that have killed tyres.  Cosmetic marks only so far!
